NORTH COUNTY

The north county area is patrolled by Deputies that are stationed out of our Bridgeport Office. This is our main facility, which houses our Department’s Administration, Finance Office, Civil and Jail Operations. The following communities covered are: Bridgeport, Coleville, Topaz and Walker. The north county has the famous fishing waters such as Bridgeport Reservoir, Twin Lakes (Bridgeport) along with the Walker River. There are numerous hiking trails, campgrounds and back country waterways for enjoyment. This area also has the Marine Warfare Training Center which is used for harsh winter survival training for various military contingents both of the United States and also foreign countries. Bridgeport Valley along with Coleville is well known for its farming and cattle ranches.

CENTRAL COUNTY

The central county area is patrolled by Deputies that are stationed out of our June Lake Sub-Station. The following communities covered are: Conway Ranch, Lee Vining, June Lake and Mono City. The June Lake Sub-Station is not manned full time. The Deputies do use this sub-station frequently, but due to their patrol duties they are not always present. There is a phone located next to the main door of the sub-station, this phone has a direct line which can be used to contact the Dispatch Center in Bridgeport. The central county has many well known fishing waters, hiking trails, and campgrounds, along with snow skiing and snow boarding at June Mountain. Yosemite National Park is accessible from the east entrance gate via Tioga Pass which has an elevation of nearly 10,000 feet. Mono Lake, home of the famous ‘tufa tower’ is also in this part of the county.

SOUTH COUNTY

The southern sections of Mono County are patrolled by Deputies that are stationed out of our Crowley Lake Sub-Station. The following communities covered are: Benton Hot Springs, Crowley Lake, Chalfant, Hammil Valley, Oasis, Paradise, Sunnyslopes, Swall Meadows, Tom’s Place and White Mountain Estates. The Crowley Lake Sub-Station is not manned full time. The south county Detective is permanently stationed out of this office, but due to his investigator case load he is not always present. There is a phone located next to the main door of the sub-station, this phone has a direct line which can be used to contact the Dispatch Center in Bridgeport. This section of the county is quite diverse landscape wise. It goes from mountain peaks over 13,000 feet on the west to the farming and livestock communities on the east. It has the well known fishing waters of Crowley Lake, not to mention the other numerous mountain lakes, streams, hiking trails and campgrounds.
