The Jail entrance is located at 25 Emigrant Street, Bridgeport CA.; two blocks north of the General Store which is located on Main Street (Highway 395).

Visiting
All visitors must have valid photo identification and be 18 years of age or accompanied by their parents. All visitors on Jail Property are subject to search, both their person and/or their property. If you have been incarcerated in this facility within the last six months, you will not be allowed to visit. Mono County Jail does not allow contact visits of any type.

Any person who knowingly brings into the jail facility any alcoholic beverage, narcotics or narcotic paraphernalia is guilty of a Felony crime which is punishable by imprisonment in State Prison (Penal Code Section 4573).

Any person who knowingly brings into the jail facility any deadly weapon is guilty of a Felony crime which is punishable by imprisonment in State Prison (Penal Code Section 4574).

Visiting days and times are as follows:

Sunday: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Monday: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Wednesday: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Friday: 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm

Inmate Property
Inmates can release their property that is in our custody at any time. The inmate must sign a property release form and identify the individual accepting the items. The person taking custody of the inmate’s property must have valid photo identification.

Inmates cannot receive goods
Inmates are allowed to receive only money from visitors. This can be in the form of US currency, cashiers check, or money orders (made out to the inmate) in the jail lobby. We do not accept any other goods for the inmates from visitors: including books, newspapers, etc. Inmates can purchase hygiene products, cookies, candy, and stationary products from the jail commissary. (Clothing can be accepted but will be placed in the inmate’s property till he/she is released)

Mail and other Correspondence
You can write to an inmate at our facility at the following address: PO Box 697 Bridgeport CA. 93517. Please remember to make sure all envelopes have a return address in case the inmate has been released from custody so the correspondence may be returned.

Bail & Bond
The Mono County Sheriff’s Department will not refer any specific Bond Agency. However the closest Bail & Bond companies are located in Bishop and South Lake Tahoe, both in California. We cannot do business with bond agencies not licensed in California.

To bond an inmate out of jail, you first need to select a bond agency of your choice and contact them directly. The bond agency will explain its process to you.

To bail an inmate out of jail using US currency, you must have the exact dollar amount. No personal checks will be accepted. However, we do accept cashiers checks and money orders. If bail amount is over $10,000 and payment is cash: you must have a valid identification card along with your original social security card.
