David O’Hara - Lieutenant

Lieutenant David O’Hara began his Law Enforcement career in the United States Air Force Security Police. Upon being honorably discharged in 1980, he was hired by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff for 10 years and worked various assignments in the Jail and Patrol Divisions.

In 1990, David was hired by the Mono County Sheriff’s Department as a June Lake Resident Deputy. During his years as a Deputy, he also was assigned as the Department’s School Resource/ Dare Officer. In 1999 David was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. As a Sergeant, he was assigned as a Field Watch Commander and as the Department’s Emergency Services Coordinator. He was promoted to his current rank of Lieutenant in January of 2008.

Lt. O’Hara resides in the community of Walker with his wife Sandra, who teaches 1st grade at Antelope Elementary School. They have two adult children and one granddaughter. David and Sandra enjoy horseback riding, Rving, ATV’s and spending time with their family.
